The FUNNY 10 Most Powerful Women in Blogging
Filed in: Cute & Funny, Web, Weblog — November 12th, 2005
Liberalcowboy made a list of the 10 most powerful women in blogging, but it turned into a joke. He mistakenly assumed Joi Ito is a woman!

Joi Ito with the IBM helmet
Joi Ito (online CV) is a man, and he has clarified that here.
Singaporean blogger, Wendy Cheng (XiaXue) is also listed as one of the most powerful women in blogging.
The list is based on stats from Technorati, BlogShares, and Google.
My two cents
Don’t take it seriously.
Powerful? What kind of power? Maybe they are popular (most talked about) female bloggers, but I don’t think the listed women are powerful, at least I don’t agree on Joi Ito and XiaXue.
Remember, Joi Ito is a MAN.

joi ito said he had been mistaken as a women before. well usually people who are not of our nationality has names we find difficult to tell whether one is male or female.
i would have thought my name is very feminine (it’s lucy in italian) but i was mistaken as a man couple of times by some members of the the ‘covers collectors circuit club’ (worldwide stamps club) of which i was a member several years back. these people are from countries like turkey, istanbul, czechslovokia.
