Anyone have tried it out? I’m not really happy with blogger.com.

I think we can’t edit our template with wordpress.com..

ya, only few wordpress templates available at wordpress.com.
November 22nd, 2005 at 2:57 pm
Still too limited. Blogger / Blogspot still can create or use the many templates on the web.

I have the invitation from wordpress and signup but not utilise it
November 22nd, 2005 at 5:14 pm
er… i don’t understand. in the first place, i didn’t know that there should be an invitation before one can use WP. i thought as long as one has own server/web host, one can use WP.
i started using WP (but did not make my blog public - still testing stage) several weeks ago when i got a free web hosting for 6 months. someone - edrei - helped me to do all the uploading of files, templates, etc. i thought that’s it - just get a web host and can use WP. i don’t understand this invitation part as all along i thought it is free sign-up (but must have server). opps. perhaps this is what the free sign-up means - now no need to have own server to use it??
i try sign up for my blog ‘mental jog’ just to look see. wonder can i choose any templates?

That’s a different thing altogether.
It’s WordPress hosting your blog. You get to use their program on their server. So you would need to be invited (at first). Now the accounts are free.
You have WordPress program hosted on your OWN server so you can do anything you want with it. Download and install your own templates.
These people who use the WordPress.com hosted scripts have limitations as they can’t upload and install their own templates. They have to use what is given on that site.

Can adsense code be added to the theme ?
November 23rd, 2005 at 10:04 am
Registering for an account is really simple and fast, too bad it seem that the template is not customisable.
November 23rd, 2005 at 1:40 pm
cant add the adsense since.. the template cannot be customized.
November 23rd, 2005 at 4:46 pm
Now that’s a real bummer.
I’m sticking with blogspot. At least the template is very customizable. They even have integrated Adsense administration to match colors etc. Then again Blogspot is by Google wat..

liew,
I don’t understand why certain people hate the blogspot.
For me, blogspot is the best. We can put so many type of code inside!
Not like wordpress (F.O.C -open for registration-)…. (sorry to say) , it can’t be together with adsense.

I must admit that Wordpress.com’s templates are nicer than Blogspots’. But the better things with Blogspot is their templates are customizable and can insert adsense
No updates from liew so far… holiday kah

^^ i agree that wordpress templates are more professional looking, perfect for serious journalist/writers. blogger is customizable but most templates are for personal blogs (mostly from blogskins)
