Microsoft adopts Mozilla’s RSS icon. The icon will become the standard RSS icon in both Mozilla and Microsoft web browsers.

“I’m excited to announce that we’re adopting the icon used in Firefox. [They] were very enthusiastic about allowing us (and anyone in the community) to use their icon,” wrote a member of Microsoft’s RSS Team.

My two cents

It is nice to have a standard icon for RSS. I have updated the site feed icon. :)

Liew, you are still using the orange XML feed for your site feed.

Or am I mistaken. The icon is elsewhere??

I updated the feed icon under “Subscribe”. Try to clear browser cache first.

I had a funny feeling when I read about it in IE Blog.

Why would IE adopt a Firefox’s icon? Is Firefox the standard now? (Though I hope so, but IE still stand the larger potion, more than half, to be precise)

Anyhow, from a user point of view, that’s definitely the correct thing to do.

[...] Microsoft loves the Firefox RSS icon so much it also wants to use it. Mozilla is giggling. [...]
