Install Windows Live Messenger without Invitation
Filed in: Downloads, Microsoft, Technology, Tips n Tricks — January 14th, 2006
Windows Live Messenger (formerly MSN Messenger 8 ) is the next-generation MSN Messenger. Windows Live Messenger has new Vista look and added some new features such as PC-to-PC calls, sending offline messanges to other Messengers and more.

However, current Windows Live Messenger is only opened to beta testers and required an invitation to sign in. But, we always have the way to break it. For curious MSN Messenger users, here I show you how to download, install and sign in Windows Live Messenger beta, without Microsoft invitation.
Download Windows Live Messenger(formerly MSN Messenger 8 )
First of all, you need to download a copy of Windows Live Messenger installer. Though Microsoft does not disclose the download link but some kind souls revealed it. Here you are, the link to download Windows Live Messenger (Microsoft) !
Launch Windows Live Messenger
After you have downloaded and installed the Windows Live Messenger, you will realise that you cannot sign in it! Don't worry, it has beendesigned to block you (non-beta testers). It is closed beta, remember?

- Now, we need to use a "downgrader" to bypass it. Download and install MSNP13 Downgrader (A-Patch).
- Then, launch Windows Explorer and navigate to
C:\Program Files\MSN MessengerSee the "MSNlaunch" icon? Double-click it to launch MSNP13 downgrader and Windows Live Messenger at the same time. - The MSNP13 downgrader will bypass the Windows Live Messenger beta tester check and sign you into the MSN instant messenger network. You're done!
Note: Since you need to run MSNlaunch to launch Windows Live Messenger, I recommend you put a shortcut icon on desktop for easy access.
Update: Install Windows Live Messenger without Invitation".
My two cents
Windows Live Messenger has simple but beautiful user interface design, but it takes up a lot system resources. My poor Pentium III almost cannot handle it... By the way, MSN Messenger finally supports offline message! ![]()
Next, I will show you how to remove ads on Windows Live Messenger!
FAQ

For anyone looking for an invitation, just go Here. Scroll down untill you see “Windows Live Messenger beta” and click where you see “Sign up”. Now all you do is type in your email address and wait for an invitation. It should take a day or two, but it works.

There is a better software known as LiveConnect v4 that will let you sign in without an invite AND enable transparency and other exclusive features on Windows Live Messenger.
It’s made by this guy called Koshy John… it’s up at his blog.. check it out.

He’s also got Windows Media Player 11 and instructions to get Windows Live Mail!!!

[...] As many of you will know, Microsoft is slowly revamping all of their applications with a brand new look and interface, probably to coincide with the released of Windows Vista (supposedly) sometime this year. One such application that is getting big makeover is MSN Messenger, which is being renamed to Windows Live Messenger. A beta version of the application is currently available but only to a select few lucky people who received an invitation from Microsoft (I am fortunate enough to be testing Windows Live Messenger, Office Live, and Windows OneCare). If you’d like to test Windows Live Messenger yourself, check out this complete guide over at LiewCF.com (because I can’t give you all my links!) with directions on patching the executable file. The new application supports PC-to-PC calls, the ability to send offline messages, and more. [...]

[...] So I am guessing you have read all the above because you want to like I have, get MSN8 without an invite. I found the following tutorial thanks to TipMonkies, an interesting online blog. The tutorial on LiewCF has a link to where the MSN8 installer is stored on microsoft servers, you have to download and install msn8 first. But alas it isnt all easy to get it to actually work. You have to download a proxy program, which makes the msn servers think your connecting using msn7 this has to run in the background while msn8 is running otherwise it wont work. [...]

[...] Windows Live Messenger ( msn 8 beta ) uten invite! Her er lsningen p WLM invite problemet. N kan du logge inn med Windows Live Messenger, uten vre invitert, eller vre betatester. 1. Last ned Windows Live Messenger. Windows Live Messenger ( msn 8 beta ) 2. I don’t see the point in asking for invites, or installing the patch just to sign into messenger. When you can go Here to get an invite and the latest version of Live.
Blue - Follow the instructions i told in my previous posts.

Nice…
Microsoft has stopped developing Messenger for MacOSX, which I run, although I keep a Windoze box undusted for the occasional game
There are better IM solutions for any platform when it comes to MSN though. Usually it is buggy and consumes a vast amount of sys. resources. I don’t know about version 8, but they usually do (even on Mac!).
Have you taken a look at GAIM for Windoze (AdiumX for Mac?)?.
Anyhow, nice site, I like it
March 20th, 2006 at 4:24 am
Thanks for visiting, Erich Honeker.
Yes, I am using Adium (I am mac switcher!). There is no ver 8 for mac, anyway.
So far, there is no alternative IM fully compatible with MSN Messenger features such as voice chat, videocam, and smileys.
I think most ppl use MSN Messenger because of those
