Email Spammer in Malaysia
Filed in: Malaysia, Web — February 9th, 2006
I received the following email in my Gmail account.
“Malaysian eMarketer” promised to send out spam emails to 8,000,000 Malaysians. The spam mail solution has been used by over 100 companies in Malaysia.
How does it work?
You design your advertisement and send it to the spammer. Then, they will send out your advertisement on your behalf to those spam mail victims in Malaysia. Later, you will not receive sales enquiries but your email address will be blacklisted. Your company will be known as a spammer and blacklisted by potential customers (spam mail victims).

that might fear ur potential customers off, but i dare to say it’s still quite an effective one if it ’spam’ nicely.

Check the email headers to confirm the source of the mail. Find out the SMTP server.
If it is really from TMNET server, then complain to TMNET. Anyway, I doubt they will take any action.

if they send out emails randomly, its spamming. Unless they figure out a way how to target specific people. people who do business on the internet. that way its good. sales might go up as well

I got it as well, spamming on our behalf…….actually I think it will degrade your website name. Better not do that.
They actually just buy the list and resell them, and wow…I think the sell one Spam mail, they earn back the money already.

Unfortunately, it’s a solution that works. I know of people who’ve tried solutions like these - and as said - even if 1% replies, it still numbers in the thousands.
