WordPress 1.5.3 Beta 1
Filed in: Weblog, WordPress — March 16th, 2006

I’ve just upgraded LiewCF.com to WordPress 1.5.3 beta 1.
Why WordPress 1.5.3?
WordPress 1.5.x contain some security flaws, which is fixed in WordPress 2.0.2. But I don’t wish to upgrade to WordPress 2 yet. Therefore, I decided to update my WordPress 1.5.2 installation via WordPress SVN.
A guide with screenshots (for Windows user) is available, via Weblog Tools Collection.
By the way, WordPress 1.5.3 (yes, not WP2) may soon be released officially by WordPress team.
My two cents
Besides the version number, I haven’t noticed any new changes in WordPress 1.5.3 beta 1. I guess the updates are mostly done to the core, which isn’t obvious..
Hmm… I should write a “WordPress Update via SVN for Mac” guide.

eh, by announcing to the wolrd what version of WP you using, then if there are indeed known bugs or security flaw in this version, aren’t you inviting you-know-who? no?

well, if those you-know-who wants to exploit the flaws, you don’t need to tell them which version you’re on, they’ll know
Even if it’s not mentioned, it’s stated in the code by default.

Agree with AlexAllied. Just click the page source, you will get to know the version of Wordpress anyone using.

Go directly to WP2. Though it’s pain, but sooner or later, you will have to do it, agree?
