Connecting Multiple Monitors to Notebook
Filed in: Gadgets, Technology — April 21st, 2006

Regarding my previous post “Ideal Workspace“, I said that I wish to connect multiple monitors to my Apple iBook notebook. I was wondering how that could be done. I have some clues now. I need a Matrox DualHead2Go.
Matrox DualHead2Go is an external palm-sized box which takes single monitor display output from your computer and expands it into dual display outputs.
With Matrox DualHead2Go, I could have THREE displays at a time (iBook monitor + 2 external monitors)!
How much?
The listed price of Matrox DualHead2Go is USD $207.99(~MYR $761). Also, Dell LCD monitors are quite cheap now. A 17″ LCD monitor is only MYR $699! It is about MYR $200 cheaper compared to the time when I bought mine.
Support Macs?
Though Matrox website says that DualHead2Go supports Windows only, but there were people who successfully installed DualHead2Go with Apple PowerBook.
My two cents
I am excited to know about Matrox DualHead2Go! It makes connecting multiple monitors to notebook as easy as 1-2-3.
Ok, I am crazy about big workspace.
If you are crazier than me on bigger workspace, the TripleHead2Go is for you. It allows you to connect THREE external monitors from a single video output!
Now, the question is “Where to buy Matrox DualHead2Go in Malaysia?” I can’t find Malaysia official distributor on Matrox’s website.

actually laptop connected with another lcd is easily done. but adding 2 lcd monitor will need some hardwear..
this is because laptop comes with a monitor port….adding a monitor into the port and selecting it from your laptop graphic setting will do the job

Finally, a solution on how to connect more than one monitor to my laptop.
I’ve checked the price for the DualHead2Go on eBay. It’s a few hundred US dollars. Haih…
Is it currently available in Malaysia?
