Google GuGe (谷歌) Chinese Logo (Unofficial)
Filed in: Google — April 27th, 2006
I don’t like the new Google Chinese logo. Since Google has a Chinese name(谷歌) now, it should use chinese characters in the logo. Thus, I created an unofficial GuGe logo for Google.

The Chinese GuGe logo is using same theme colors as Google logo. The beauty of Chinese characters is that you can divided one character into a few parts and each part can carry own meaning.
What do you think?

i think its time google change the rainbow colours to something more business like.
with that colourful chinese character, sounds like “ren kou” follow by “ge ge qian”. in english would be the “population” and “brother owe something”

Hi Liew,
I think it is due to branding that Google did not use the Chinese character as the main focus in their Google China website.
People recognise Google by their famous “Google” logo, and thus, that famous “Google” logo should be the main focus.
That’s what I think.
But, the logo u created is nice!
Don’t be surprised if someone from Google contact you! Lol.

[...] Liew has done what Google probably should have done itself: Create a primary-colored version of the GuGe letters of 谷歌, making the Chinese letters resemble the world-famous Google logo. It looks great. [...]
