Bill Gates is using three LCD monitors in his office for better productivity. Currently, I am using two monitors, iBook notebook’s 12″ monitor and a 17″ Dell UltraSharp LCD monitor (read my review). But I am not satisfy, I wish to have a bigger workspace.

Ideal workspace

As a tech blogger, I often need to switch between different platforms for software reviews and surf A LOT of websites. My ideal workspace would be two (or three?) LCD monitors, which are shared by Mac and Windows at the same time, using only one set of keyboard and mouse.

It would be a Multiple-Monitors Intel-Mac System. :D

Possible setup will be iBook(12″ LCD monitor) + LCD monitor, PC + LCD monitor, then use Synergy to share keyboard and mouse seamlessly between two computers.

a umpc or a small notebook (like that small vaio) would be nice for everything cos i believe mobile and pervasive computing is the future.

at the office at least 2 big lcds connected to the umpc.

of course a qwerty smartphone (blackberry, nokia comm etc) would be in the mix.

yea. I see a lot of users here in my working place using 2 23inch monitors. But the best is this guy using 2 x 30 inch monitors. Thats cool. I really need to get my Rm999 DELL 19 inch monitor when I get back to Malaysia

    Connecting Multiple Monitors to Notebook

Regarding my previous post “Ideal Workspace”, I said that I wish to connect multiple monitors to my Apple iBook notebook. I was wondering how could it be done, but I get some clues now. I need a Matrox DualHead2Go.

Hi, I had the same mac/win problem as you but resolved it with my powerbook on a 24 inch wide screen and SYNERGY server on my old pc and the mac. Synergy lets you use the same mouse and keyboard on 2 different machines and it really works nice. Now I have 2×24″ + 15″ on the powerbook, and I can work on all 3 at the same time 2xOSX + 1xXP ;o)
