I am testing the Personal Finance Advice’s Show Top Commentators WordPress plugin. top commentators

What does it do?

Show Top Commentators shows a list of users with most comments on your blog and link back to their websites (if provided). The comment count can be reset by hourly to yearly.

What are the benefits?

For weblog authors, it encourage readers discussions. For weblog readers, they get incoming link and traffic to their websites if they are one of the top commentators.

My two cents

This is a simple and nice plugin. The top commentators would be VIPs of the site. Perhaps, some mystery gifts for all time top commentators at end of the year? :)

sound like people would drop a “so so” comments.

    for example:

    - I like this article,
    - This article is good,
    - Thanks for the article, its very useful…

There should be a guideline, like if comments that are not so good it should be removed.

@personal finance advice: it would be great if there is a link beside commentator nickname that we can list down the comments by the user.

@calvin: yes, I will monitor the comments. and that’s the reason I am testing the plugin. :)

good. this will encourage people to give a comment. sometimes i had something in my mind, but i was very lazy to type it out. I think you should set the minimum characters, so that there is no more “so so” comment

I’m just too lazy to comment these days, plus I’m a bit busy.
One thing: Did you put on some popup ads on this site??

A pretty good way to encourage visitor participation, I must say.

I’d do it for my web site too if I have similar rate of regular commentators like you do.
