AdSense Trick: Hidden Ads

Filed in: Adsense Tips, Make Money Online — May 27th, 2006

advertisement

I discovered this tricky adsense placement on a recipe website introduced by a net friend.

adsense tricks: hidden ads
Can you find the ads? (click on thumbnail to enlarge)

It is not easy to spot the ads without paying attention (e.g: search for ads). I believe the ads unit has a VERY high CTR. Moreover, the AdSense ads unit is placed at top of the page.

umm, isn’t it illegal to conceal the urls? which is why there’s such a big gap between the ads and the part that says ads by google

I’m not sure if it’s even possible to conceal them, if you try to they’ll just appear in black, that’s what i heard.

I believe that’s against Google TOS. There should be a clear distinction between content and ads.= according to Google.

    A.H Says:

It’s not against Google’s TOS, the publisher at that site didn’t encourage anyone to click the ads, nor did he edit the ad frame itself.
