MonsterBlog - Malaysian Group Blog by NST
Filed in: Malaysia, Weblog — July 14th, 2006
New Straits Times, a Malaysia local newspaper, launched a group blog called Monster Blog. The blog is hosted by JARING, and 10 famous local bloggers will write for the group blog.
First impression
I have no idea what will be the content of the MonsterBlog. No information available at the About page. The blog use no categories but tags, a lot of tags. Monster Blog is powered by WordPress.
My two cents
“How much the bloggers get paid?” ![]()
What is the purpose of the group blog? Wanna catch the local blogging trend?
Well, I expect the bloggers write unique things for MonsterBlog. Otherwise, MonsterBlog only needs to sync their blog feeds. I don’t wish to see another Malaysia group blog failure.

liewcf,
Not every blogger is money oriented, we do this mainly for fun. Even the ads on my blog are only to pay for hosting and such.
Cheers.

Relax, fellow MonsterBlog bloggers.
It was the first question came out from the mind of a money-minded blogger(me!). No hard feeling pls.
Cheers!
BUT… Does NST pay the MonsterBlog bloggers?
Sorry, I am curious.

No they don’t, we don’t get paid.
It’s a community effort, there’s no ads on the site and we weren’t hired, we were chosen haha
It’s not a commercial venture.
