Going to PIKOM PC Fair 2006

I am on my way to Kuala Lumpur in a few hours time. I will be going to PIKOM PC Fair 2006 for hardware shopping and visiting some friends.
I have decided to buy a Canon PowerShot A700 digital camera but probably won’t be getting it at PC Fair, because Tien Soon told me that I can get a good deal from a camera shop located in Berjaya Times Square, KL.
Anyway, I will try to get a DVD writer, MP3 player(on my brother’s behalf), and printer inks at PC Fair. Oh, I also need an external case for the writer. So many things to buy… 
Any recommendation for DVD writer? LG GSA-H10N seems good. What do you think?

You better buy in lowyat.
For my exp, you won’t get the cheap prices in PC fair.
Some of them more expensive than before.
And warantty also is a problem ……..
For DVD writer, i recomened Lite-On or Ben-Q
Please do not but the LG or Samsung brand
This is because my LG dvd driver was broken after 1 week …
Samsung dvd driver always eject and eject, come in and come out …

Yea..I agree with aHfUi..Some friends of mine who used to have LG dvd burner grumbled about the same problem less than 1 month after the purchase..apparently the LG burner isnt that durable and reliable..Get your hands on another brand such as Pioneer..although it’s a bit costly than other brand, but i think it’s worth it. That’s what i heard..mm..Maybe you can take a look at this site http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/270 for more info and the product’s review..

damn, you just came back from a tech shopping trip, i really like that, not much chance to do so. anyway, i have been using the Lg model u have mentioned, i am hepi to say,no pro what so eva, but i have been only using it occationally.

In terms of price, I think we coldnt generalize a such. What ahfui said about PC Fair price is true for some items, but generally shoppers can get lots of bargain on other products. I bought my thumbdrive, new keyboard, blank CDs at reasonably cheap price at last years PC Fair.

If you know what you want - DON’T GO TO PC FAIR (KL).
Why? Well, the last time I went to PC Fair just to buy an extra RAM for my notebook, they made me go through ALL THE EXHIBITION. The first hall was way up on the 3rd floor or something … and there were no accessories there, only branded stuffs. Then the rest of halls are on the ground floor. And the crowd … Oh man …!! People can collapse with that kind of crowd. Did I tell you that it’s only a way route? Meaning if you can’t go out in between the halls. I got my stuff in the 2nd hall. And when I am done, they make me go through hall 3, 4 and 5. And a hall is like the size of a football court (or maybe half). Don’t forget the crowd.
Now here’s the more irritating news … I called up my friend and told him my bad experience. And he said, “Hey I am in Low Yat. You can still get PC Fair prices here. And there’s no busy crowd here.”
Ever since, I’ve decided, when you want to go to PC Fair, go to Low Yat.

Low yat is Z best
Seems that the Imbi Plaza people all moved house there.
Canon Powershot: I also have one, just love it for every day pics (although if you spend some money, a phonecamera these days also does the work for posting pics on your blog, and yo can post wherever you want…shower and swimming pool not recommended…)

not that good la asd. alor star’s pc fair holds a riots for quite a while. i knew bout it bcoz it was happened right in front of me. along with police and reporters as well..
