Music Bluehyppo - the Malaysia iTune Store Wannabe

September 29th, 2006 | Category: Malaysia, Reviews, Tmnet, Web | 8 Comments

TMNET, the Malaysia main ISP, has launched an online music store for fellow Malaysians called “Music BlueHyppo“. It is a good idea as Apple iTune store is not available here. However it does not have an ideal website.

First Impression

Music Bluehyppo is using a blue theme. The website looks dim with blue background. A lot of auto rotate images… I don’t like them. :( There are different music genre listed, but I see mostly local music on the front page.

Music Bluehyppo is a website builded for Microsoft Windows. Internet Explorer is required to preview and purchase songs. Windows media player is required to play your purchased songs. Of course, the song format is WMA.

Amazon aStore New Features (coming soon)

September 29th, 2006 | Category: Affiliate Programs, Make Money Online | 2 Comments

Amazon aStore Beta logoReceived an email from Amazon.com Associates Program about next release of aStore. Here are the currently planned features (might be changed later):

  • Build and maintain multiple aStores using a single Associate ID
  • Specify products to feature on Category and Sub-Category pages
  • Create multiple instances of individual categories and sub-categories (e.g. Beatles Music and Rolling Stones Music)
  • Feature up to 54 products on the front page of your store rather than the current limit of nine
  • Write longer custom product descriptions
  • Better control the layout and design for use in frames by providing the capability to remove the store header and category navigation

My two cents

The ability to build multiple aStores using single Associate ID is the feature I am waiting for. It is good for Amazon associates to build different aStores for different websites. :)

By the way, here is my Amazon aStore.

Chitika eMiniMall Multi-Product Unit Ads with Referral Link

September 29th, 2006 | Category: Chitika Tips, Make Money Online | 2 Comments

Have you tried Chitika eMiniMall Multi-Product Units (MPU)? Now, you have another reason to use the MPU format.

Chitika eMiniMalls MPU referral link

Chitika made the “Chitika eMinimalls” link to become your referral link. If your visitor sign up Chitika via the link, you enjoy the same benefits of the Chitika referral program.

In short, you have one more way to make money. :) Not a member yet? Sign up free Chitika membership now.

My two cents

Somehow, the MPUs do not work for me. I found that single product banner works better. The new referral link in Chitika banner ad might attract me to try MPUs again. :)
Does Chitika MPUs work for you?

Easy CSS Top Corner Banner

September 28th, 2006 | Category: Web Development | 6 Comments

There are may ways to add a top corner banner image to your website. But I found the code at exploding-boy to be the easiest and most simple.

It is plain CSS code, no JavaScript. The code will create a linkable top corner (left or right) banner.

Before we begin, you need to prepare a 125×125 image as the top corner banner image. In the example, the image file is “TRbanner.gif”. If you are using different size image, please remember to change the “height” and “width” in the CSS code accordingly.
