Mozilla Firefox 2 RC3 Released
Filed in: Downloads, Mozilla, Open Source — October 19th, 2006
Mozilla released Firefox 2 RC 3, a version before the final Firefox 2.0 is released.
What’s new in Firefox 2?
Firefox 2 added many new features. Here are some notable features:
- New Firefox theme — …but I prefer the Firefox 1.5 default theme.
- Build-in phishing protection — protect your bank accounts
- Improved tabbed browsing — every tab has a “close tab” button, unclose tab, etc without install any Firefox extension
- Resuming browsing session — only after Firefox crashed. No guarantee that all tabs are saved.
- Better feed support — can preview feed before subscribe, or subscribe feed using your own RSS reader.
- Inline spell checking — check spelling as you type. No spelling suggestion.
My two cents
After using Firefox 2 RC 3 for awhile, I felt that it is faster than Firefox 1.5, especially when flipping web pages backward and forward. The browser cache system improved a lot. ![]()
