I wouldn’t do it. I think it looks like a way to get banned. Google’s TOS is very strict about certain things. Customers probably click on the ads thinking it has something to do with the video. Google does not want to trick people into clicking on ads, as publishers who are advertising will see absolutely no conversion since clickers will obviously not be buying anything.

The TOS states that embedded videos can be used for personal and non-commercial purposes only. Would the ads violate the “non-commercial” part?

I have been implementing that trick for few months and seems ok.. no problem at all regarding Google TOS… Good tip though! Try it guys… No joke man the CTR do increase one hell of a ride..

Google TOS says you cannot link your codes to a copyrighted materials like mp3s and videos.

What this guy did was to use youtube videos (youtube was bought over by Google). There is no direct violation to the ads like inducing fraudulent clicks and so on

Even Youtube has its own copyright policy so it’s safe to say you can you the videos on the page.

If putting videos near ads is wrong, then do you think putting images near ads is also wrong?

Please check with the google adsense team first because not long ago i read some thread from forum saying google does not allow ads to be appear below or side of any video. A 100% CTR will definitely trigger the alarm of google and they might check on ALL your sites. Please note that once your account is banned it is very difficult to apply or get it back. An email to the adsense team won’t take you too much time. Be safe rather than regret.
