Off to Friend’s Wedding Dinner

December 30th, 2006 | Category: Life Log | 4 Comments

To avoid causing my friends to worry about my health or safety, I hereby announce that I will attending my friend’s (the bride, ex-housemate) wedding dinner at Muar later today. :)

I will goto Batu Pahat to meet a friend first, and then together we will be going to Muar. We will return to Batu Pahat at night where I will stay overnight at his house. Then, Sunday breakfast together, probably.

My friend, the bride, is same age as me, 26-year-old. For girls, it is not too early for marriage. For guys, I think around 30-year-old is fine. What do you think? But before that, I should find a girlfriend first. :P

PayPerPost Aquires Performancing, Good or Bad?

December 30th, 2006 | Category: Weblog | 2 Comments

PayPerPostPerformancing was one of my favorite blog with many useful articles. I was surprised when I read “PayPerPost Acquires Performancing.com” that PayPerPost will be acquiring Performancing.com, Performancing Metrics, a free blog analytics service, and Performancing Exchange, an online classifieds for bloggers.

However, the Perfomancing Partners, a blog ad network, and Performancing for Firefox, a free blog editor, are not included. Even so, many Performancing members felt disappointing about the decision.

Taiwan Earthquakes Interrupts Telecommunications Across Asia

December 27th, 2006 | Category: Technology, Tmnet | 22 Comments

If you experienced interruptions of phone and web services in Asia, you are not alone. The recent strong earthquakes in Taiwan damaged a few undersea cables. Repairing the undersea cables will take two to three weeks.

Jaring and TMnet had also make related announcements on their websites.

“The recent earthquake in Taiwan (and its related aftershock effects) has caused major outages of international connectivity due to multiple submarine cable failures in the affected areas. JARING international links are also affected since 3:46 am this morning (27 Dec 2006).” - JARING- Announcements

“We wish to inform our customers that the Internet service is currently experiencing a degradation in performance caused by several outages at some of the international links. This is attributed to the Richter 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck off the southern coast of Taiwan at 12.07 a.m. on 27th December 2006, which caused the APCN2 (Asia Pacific Cable Network 2) submarine cable fault between Shantou, China and Tanshui, Taiwan and between Lantau, Hong Kong and Chongming, China.

This has caused outages at several TM Net international transit and peering links, mainly to the said countries. As a result, Internet users in Malaysia and other parts of Asia may be experiencing some delay when assessing content and websites hosted outside of Malaysia, especially in U.S., Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea and Europe. TM Net has taken immediate action to divert traffic through other back-up links to reduce the traffic congestion.” - TM Net - Newsroom

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!

Merry X’mas, guys! I am in Kuala Lumpur for these few days. I am not here to celebrate Christmas day. It just happened that I am here on Christmas day. :)

It is crowded everywhere!

Movies

I watched three movies in a day: Happy Feet, Night At The Museum, and Eragon. The former two are great movies. I enjoyed very much.

Eragon is not good. You see only one dragon in the whole movie. The story is too fast. It comes to end before we realize it. And, there will be Part Two for Eragon. I don’t think I will watch it.
