Vixy.net - online download and convert YouTube flash video

Last year, I reviewed the Video Downloader which allows us to download online video but it does not convert flash video(FLV) to avi/mpeg video files. Here comes the Vixy.net.
Vixy.net is a online FLV converter that convert online flash video to common video file formats. It is handy because it does the conversion for us!

I tested Vixy.net with a few online video URLs from YouTube, Google Video and Metacafe but only YouTube url is working. Also, it took a few times to successfully download and convert the YouTube video. I got a few timeouts and server busy errors.

The flash video conversion is quite fast. It took less than a minute to convert a 2 minutes YouTube video. I cannot comment on the download speed because of my lousy ISP broadband. *shrug*
Anyway, Vixy.net is nice if you want to download YouTube video and do not know how to convert the flash video for your PC / iPod / PSP. But, I hope Vixy.net will support more online video websites, other than YouTube.
If you are interested to run the service on your server, the FLV to MPEG4 Converter engine is available as open source. Great huh?

i’ve been using viloader.com to download and convert… different from vixy.net… not only does it support converting from an URL… it also supports fle uploads from Local Harddisk… and its conversion has more options… almost from any video/audio format to the other…

does vixy.net give you viruses? I used it six times, and then the computer got a virus. I’m really hoping that it isn’t vixy but instead this program called soulseek. Please leave a reply and answer my question!

because you I can convert all videos from youtube, google, break, myspace and metacafe etc. direct in my Mobile phone, iPod, iPhone or computer.
Video convert in 3gp, mp4, mov, avi, flv etc.

I prefer to use just “ZillaTube” software to do all these quickly and easily.
It doesn’t depend on website to download, so no traffic and downloads even faster.
Besides converting offline with ZillaTube is so much more quicker.

So far I think that vixy.net is the Best but a also found another site called zamzar.com. It does the same thing as vixy.net but the files that U convert get sent 2 Ur e-mail adress.
