Langkawi Holiday

LangkawiIn case you were wondering, I was on vacation in the past few days. I went to Langkawi with friends, 12 of us. It was fun to travel with friends. :)
We booked the travel package during MATTA Fair. We took AirAsia flight to Pulau Langkawi. The package included car rental of 4 Proton Iswara. I must say the cars are old and broke, fortunately we were safe during the 3 days 2 nights. We stayed in lousy chalets with minimum facilities.

In the Langkawi Island, we had island hopping tour(pregnant maiden lake, eagle feeding, wet rice island), took Langkawi cablecar, cross through the scary bridge between hills (name?).

We had a seafood dinner at Coconut Beach Restaurant but my friends were disappointed by their services, food and the expensive bill. The last night in Langkawi, we had another seafood dinner in Kuah but that time was much more satisfied and surprisingly cheap bill.

Langkawi is duty free island. We had a great shopping time. 12 of us spend few thousands bucks on chocolate, wine and perfume just in an hour’s time!

I saw a lot of spa resports in Langkawi. One of my friend went to the spa and was offered an “extra service” by the Thailand massage girl, but he didn’t try the “service”. ;)

My two cents

If I am right, this is the 2nd time of my self-funded travel with friends. The first time was during secondary school. I often travel with family, traveling with friends is another great experience. My friends plan to travel to foreign country next year, probably Bali.

By the way, take extra notice on the promotional packages during MATTA Fair. The package was RM210+ for each person, including flights, chalet and car rental. What we got were not what we expected, although they are still acceptable.

No wonder if you’ve been AWOL all these while… (I knew you must be on some holidays!)

Glad you’ve had a decent break. Been to Langkawi twice myself last year, but both times it was semi-business and semi-leasure, so I didn’t manage to really enjoy the trip fully. I need to go there again, soon.

So, hmm.. you yourself didn’t try the spa, hehe…?

Anyway, welcome back to the boring blogsphere… ;) I need a vacation soon, likely to Klang valley again for a full week next week.

Bali sounds nice btw. I’ve checked out Padang & Bkt Tinggi late last year, very nice Indonesian cities indeed. Heard Medan is good too.

Selamat Cuti-cuti Malaysia & Famili, and Jalan-jalan Cari Makan all…

No wonder you were so quiet. I was wondering where you had gone to. A vacation once in a while is indeed very good, it ‘cleanses’ your soul ;-)

You didn’t went to the cable car? It’s nice view but I almost peed… scared of heights!

I would love to go to Langkawi and get some beautiful pictures of the Island. The last time I went there, I didn’t have with me my digital camera.

I also on ‘vacation’ - working away from office with a group of 12 students to USM Engineering Campus for InterVarsity Games for 6 days.

Now only I realised that watching Ping Pong competition is so exciting and also can cause heart attack too, hehe.

    Hi LcF,
replied via e, but leaving this for other visitors/friends of yours.
I just spent Xmas in Langkawi, had a terrific time, weather was great for the 4 days we were there. Never been to Malaysia before, but now my son lives & works there. KL & the Sky Bar for New Years Eve, in the pool at midnight.
What a fantastic place MY is! Should like to investigate moving there to live.
Happy New Year to you, my Friend,
