Dell SE198WFP 19 inch Widescreen LCD Monitor for less than RM600
Filed in: Gadgets, Malaysia — June 28th, 2007

If you are planning to replace your bulky CRT monitor with a bigger, slim, flat, light, widescreen LCD monitor… Dell Malaysia is offering Dell SE198WFP 19 inch Widescreen LCD Monitor for less than RM600. That’s a good deal!
Dell SE198WFP is a 19-inch widescreen LCD monitor with a resolution of 1440 x 900. It has two interface: analog and digital DVI with HDCP. HDCP enables viewing of protected high-defination content. SE198WFP is not the higher end UltraSharp monitor. Its contrast ratio is 1000:1 and 5ms response time.
In my opinion (with the fact that I am using a 24-inch LCD monitor), 19-inch wide screen monitor should be the default configuration for today’s computer. Do not get a smaller and non-widescreen monitor!

LCD is definitely nice. I enjoy widescreen when I’m doing all the design stuff. But it really looks weird on games applications…unless for those that support widescreen (apparently, most games do not fit well in widescreen yet)..
May I know why you recommend a widescreen monitor? I heard that in future most applications gonna run on widescreen, how true is this?

@Apple: widescreen monitor is more fit to the nature of human eyesight. therefore, widescreen monitor is the future. More and more softwares will be designed for widescreen.

I’s currently using a 19″ normal, and my office are using 20″ widescreen. IMHO, if you wanna use widescreen, go for bigger size, 21″ at least. I find 20″ is still too short (the height), I need to scroll down a lots!
