Now You Can Receive AdSense Money Immediately via Western Union
Filed in: Adsense Tips, Make Money Online — October 4th, 2007
Last year, I told you about Google was testing AdSense payment by Western Union. Now, it is available to all AdSense publishers from selected countries in Asia, Europe, and South America. No more check waiting, expensive bank fees and long clearing times!

What is Western Union Quick Cash?
Western Union Quick Cash is a payment method that allows you to receive your AdSense payments in cash using the worldwide Western Union money transfer service. Payments will be available for pick up at your local Western Union Agent the day after they are sent according to our normal payment schedule.
Meaning, you do not need to wait for AdSense checks in snail mail. No more bank fees and long clearing times for checks. Isn’t it great?! ![]()
The Western Union Quick Cash payment is in US dollars. You may receive your payment in your local currency according to the exchange rate used by the Western Union Agent of the day you pick up your payment.
Is AdSense Western Union Payment available to you?
Currently, AdSense payment by Western Union Quick Cash is available in the following countries:
- China
- Malaysia
- Pakistan
- Romania
- Philippines
- Argentina
- Chile
- Peru
- Colombia
Google may add the payment method to publishers in other countries. If yours is not listed, please be patient.
How to update AdSense payment method to Western Union?
It is very easy to setup your AdSense account to receive payment by Western Union:
- Sign in your Google AdSense account
- Click My Account tab
- Click the edit link adjacent to the Payment Details header.
- Select Setup Western Union Quick Cash
- Click Continue >> button
- Confirm your payee name is EXACTLY same as your government issued ID (e.g. Identity Card) by ticking the checkbox next to “I agree that I have a picture ID that matches the contact name above.”
- Click Save changes button. Done!
Please note that the maximum payout amount of Western Union Quick Cash is $2,800 USD. If your payment exceeds this amount, it will be switched to Secured Express Delivery ($24 USD processing fee).
By the way, no Western Union payments to business payee names.
How to receive AdSense money via Western Union
According to Ades, you will be given a 10 digits MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) at the end of the month (if your AdSense balance reaches $100.00).
To receive the money from your local Western Union agent, you need to bring the MTCN and your government issued ID, know how much money you are withdrawing and Google HQ address.

For Malaysians, Western Union services are available at most branches of CIMB Bank, POS Malaysia, and RHB Bank. Click here to find your local Western Union agents.
Is it FREE?
According to both Malaysian AdSense publishers who were beta testers of AdSense Payment by Western Union, it is free of charge.
Update: The new Western Union payment method has been announced at Google AdSense blog.

Liew,Do we need to setup a western union account in local bank?
October 4th, 2007 at 8:40 am
Adsense will not impose a service fee for using this feature but will Western Union charges a commission? I understand that WU commission is very high. If it is completely free all the way, then that would be great. Meaning we will actually receive in full what we’ve earned from Adsense without any deductions. There must be a cost involved in remitting these funds via WU, just that who is bearing it. We or Google?

Thanks for this update.
I have opted for the Western Union mode of payment. Will see how much CIMB is going to charge.
I think even if the bank charges, this is still a great option. At least it won’t take a month to get the checks to clear.
Prior to this, I chose Secured Express Delivery after not receiving two of my checks via snail mail. Google credited the lost check but it was frustrating.
October 7th, 2007 at 12:46 am
@Jason Lee: I will receive my next AdSense payment by Western Union
