Take Longer Time to Clear AdSense Cheque in Malaysia?
Filed in: Adsense Tips, Make Money Online, Malaysia — October 10th, 2007
Before Malaysians can receive AdSense money via Western Union, it took a very long time for us to cash the AdSense payments. For example, it took 2 weeks for the cheque to arrive from U.S.
Recently, the local bank seems to be slower to process the U.S. cheques than before. In 2005, it took bank for about 30 days to clear the cheques. But one of my recent cheque took 35 days.
The following calendar shows the period from the day I bank in cheque to the day of cheque bank in receipt issued:

I had switched my AdSense payment method to Western Union and waiting for the first payment at the end of the month. However, I would have to switch back to snail mail payment method if the payout is over $2800 USD.

35 days, wow, that’s quite a bit of waiting, ain’t it…
October 10th, 2007 at 12:55 am
ya, that’s why i don’t “wait”. Only check the bank account balance when I withdraw money at ATM

Liew, do you even need to check your account balance? I don’t think you need to, unless you are withdrawing the max you can.

From my past observation, the bank clears the cheque fast when Ringgit is weakening but when it is strengthening, they clear it with a few extra days. That way, the bank could earn extra from the exchange rate. Did you see the same thing?

i am also another malaysian full time blogger, i just started last month..my blog at khairilz.com, i waiting cheque from google

hmmm… on the contrary… my checks seem to be clearing faster - about 28 days.
then again Liew, maybe your checks are so much bigger and fatter and cannot fit in the post so it takes longer!
and please do post about how fast your earning arrive with western union!

Never receive one, yet. So, no comment on the clearing time. But 34 days is sure too long! Hope adsense could pay me with Western Union soon (currently not available for my country, Indonesia).
Btw Liew, what do you mean about:
Do you mean that we cannot receive payment more than $2800 with WU?

Yup, notice that too. I use CIMB for the past few months cheque clearance took more than 30 days (around 35 days). Previously only need 3-4 weeks.
Just enrolled with Western Union payment scheme.

Haha, it still seems too short compared to me who didn’t get Adsense cash via Bumiputra bank since April. Then I let Google re-issue the check, once i received the re-issued check, i banked in, after I waited for more than one month why my cash was still not come in, i check with the bank and only got the result that they just sent my check to KL (I am in Penang), :-(((, Today I received another check, don’t know what will happen to it…

Maybe that explain why my latest cheque deposited on the 5th of September is still not cleared yet..hmm it is exactly 35 days today! maybe need to check tomorrow!
BTW, I am using muamalat since it is the cheapest at rm5.
What banks do you guys use? maybe the type of bank also is a factor in determining the processing time.

CIMB Bank is the best.
@Ken Xu: Yes, AdSense payment by Western Union is not available for payout more than $2800 USD.
If Adsense let us control how much money to withdraw then that’ll be awesome great.

I gotta tell ya: I’d be pretty happy if I actually received any cheque from the big G. Have you considered their EFT option?
October 13th, 2007 at 12:26 pm
Just switch my payment mode to Western Union too, hopefully everything will go smooth. Thanks for the tip.

2 weeks for arrival of cheque is very normal but 30 days to clear? I once had a USD80 cheque 2 weeks to clear from a paid-to-surf site. USD2,800 … now THAT’S a very fat cheque!

Hi guys, I am new here but can I ask how much can one earn from a blog site?
October 25th, 2007 at 5:34 pm
For me… I am still waiting for my adsense cheque. Still not decide which way to clear my cheque.

About two hours ago Google Ireland had given me the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) to collect my Western Union Quick Cash from “a local Western Union agent”.

I banked in Adsense check last month on 18th Sept, check cleared at adsense payment history 26th Oct , today is 21st Nov. Still not in my CIMB account is it normal? Why CIMB taking too long from the clearing date in Adsense, it is more than 35days now…

@JDM_Car: Yes, it is slow. Better switch to Western Union payment method now.
