While we were celebrating Christmas 2007, another online advertising network has been launched in Malaysia — Nufflets, a contextual advertising network targeted to Asia market that offers Cost-Per-Click text based advertising.

What is “Nufflets”?

The name Nufflets is kind of a combination of the other 2 online advertising network in Malaysia: Nuffnang and Advertlets.

The Nufflets ads are Cost-Per-Click, you only get paid when there is ad click on your website. Nufflets applies a 50% revenue share and your share will be increased based on your website performance. They do not reveal how to decide the “performance”.

Yes, you can use AdSense and Nufflets on the same web page, as long as the Nufflets ad format is significantly different from AdSense ads.

The currency used on Nufflets is USD. The minimum payout amount is $50 USD, payment method is cheques. For each successful Publisher sign-up, you will be given $5 USD. You will get another $10 USD if you link back to Nufflets at your website.

Asia only

Although Nufflets claims to be “Asia’s Online Advertising Network”, they only accept publishers from Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, China and Japan. To join Nufflets, your website needs to have minimum 3,000 pageviews per month and using own domain name (sorry, no blogspot.com allowed).

The Malaysian Dotcom Youth Search is the hunt for websites, portals and even blogs with the ability to generate income and influence communities with an innovative factor. The contest is opened to Malaysians aged between 18 to 30. The winner awards including RM20,000 cash prize, a notebook, and more. The closing date is 10 January 2008.

How to join The Malaysian Dotcom Youth Search?

Firstly, submit your website to YouthMalaysia. Upon approval of your application (about 1 day), you will receive an email with a HTML code. Put the code on your website. The code will act as a hit counter and vote tracker for your site.

The nominated sites

Overall, most of the nominated sites are blogs, some affiliate sites, and a few of web apps and forums. I know about 1/4 of the listed sites/blogs.

There were some listing errors but fixed after I notified the site crew. But today I spotted another site listing error..

The organizers

The organizers of The Malaysian Dotcom Youth Search are YouthMalaysia.com, MIRC Incubator, and Nuffnang.com. The contest is established in conjunction with Youth`08.

A month after Firefox 3 beta 1, Mozilla has released Firefox 3 beta 2 and available for download here.

What’s new about Beta 2?

Compared to Beta 1, the Firefox 3 Beta 2 has improved location bar that makea the search result easier to be identified. The results for the location bar are shown in 2 lines: page title and web address, in different colors. The matched keyword is bolded and underlined.

You also notice that the Go button at location bar is hidden until you enter a website address in the location bar.

Firefox 3 beta 2 also has a better search panel that allows you search for history, tags, and bookmarks. You can add as many search rules as you like, and save the search as a dynamic folder, much like Thunderbird’s email search.
