Google ToolBar PageRank is FAKE!?

Filed in: Google — January 15th, 2008

Google PageRank 10Apparently, Google is updating the PageRank for the first time in 2008. As always, many webmasters are talking about the increase or decrease of their websites’ PageRank.

In case you are curious, you can check your website’s pagerank at different datacenters at DigPagerank.

However, some discovered that Google Directory has different PageRank values for each website than the Google Toolbar PageRank. Some previously PageRank penalized websites still keep the high PR in Google Directory.

Meaning, Google might use fake data for the PageRank on Google toolbar!

Yea, I think that’s how things was. I discussed with some SEO gurus previously and what they come to agree is that Google should be “hiding” your real PR and throw you with a PR0 or penalized value so you cant sell links. Your content are actually still indexed.

It’s not really a “fake” value in Google Toolbar, rather your “public” PR value.

Google is bad! Very bad boy. Sigh… Oh… Thanks for tipping me :) Hehehe… I got my irenelaw.com PR back to 3 after submitting for reconsideration because it’s free from paid posts and ad selling. However, Sweet Surrender is still stucked at PR0, can’t do anything much…

Maybe google is doing something BIG behind, we wait for it to be revealed. However, my site which just started on 1st of Jan is still having a grey-in-colour PageRank. Good Luck!

PR is important to webmasters who are selling spaces for advertisements.

Many of my websites are having zero PR with low traffic (averaging 50/day mostly from the US) but I’m making enough Adsense earnings to pay my bills.

Apparently to get higher PR one needs to be sneaky (using aggressive SEO tools like RSS Equalizer, Traffic Equalizer, ArticleBot, Kloakit, Ad Network, Link Vault, etc.)

HongKiat is correct. PR fluctuates on a daily basis. It is just one of many (maybe hundreds of ) values that make up its SERP algorithms. So it’s not “fake”, but rather a “snapshot” of one particular datacenter (of which Google also has many).

Hi! I hope this is true as I’ve just lost my 4/10 on my blogspot blog! Just as I’ve become a stay-at-home Mum and hoping to earn some $$$, this happened. I don’t understand it and I’m worried of losing my private domain’s 3/10 rank now…

But I don’t earn anything from Adsense and get more from PPP - shud I stop PPP then to earnback my PageRank? But that means earning nothing! So depressing

    LcF Says:

@KittyCat: frankly, I do not recommend PPP.
