their offer appears to be cheaper than godaddy. I wonder, does the bandwidth includes mysql’s bandwidth, godaddy kicked me out because my blog’s mysql is consuming too much bandwidth whereas my php/html bandwidth usage is just around 1%.

Is exabytes is the best in Malaysia? I just signup with sharksurf 4 days ago. BAsically is the price issue. sharksurf RM99 . Exabytes is Rm2xx ( forgot liao ). But in performance wise…….I’m not so concern with that , because my web traffic is not heavy.

I believe Exabytes is the best web hosting in Malaysia (my friend say best php provider in Malaysia).
Few weeks before, i saw the EBiz Gold plan, if you subscribe 3 years, you will get RM299 (around that…) per year. But i can’t see this promotion now…

i’m presently looking for a host. had thought of signing up with exabytes but i heard mixed reacting from exabytes users. what i want most from a host is support since i’m basically a techie idiot! haha. dunno what in the world is mysql or whatever. i need my host to do most of the things for me. i get very scared if one day i see i can’t access my blog and need to run to my host!
so is exabytes good for non techie savvy user like me? i really am looking hard for a host these days. one local host i contacted did not respond to me!

Exabytes change their promotions so fast.
Last time when I signed up for their EBiz Gold Linux Hosting Plan, I only got free life time domain, free email backup server, 150 website templates, 90 days submitnet SEO and RM200 Google AdWords Coupon.
Now they add iPay88 free setup, free iStockphoto, NBePay discount and USD17 discount.
I’m so jealous!

lucia, i believe Exabytes is suitable for a non-techie guy. They will help you to setup your account. Furthermore, they will reply your question within 1-2 hours!
If you decide to choose Malaysia Web hosting, i would recommend Exabytes!

Just wondering that if i am using blogspot ,can i upgrade to self host from exabytes? Please help.thanks
May 16th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Exabytes is a horrible host! Unless you serve exclusively static pages or some PHP, don’t even try exa’s shared hosting. Everytime you complain to tech support about absymal performance, they will happily ask you to upgrade to VPS or Dedicated.
On a fine day, their Linux shared hosting server load can go as high as 10, or when someone backups his site, expect 30~40.

@Gecko: never goto web hosting with GoDaddy. GoDaddy is good for domain registration only.
@Felex Tan: you can switch to own hosting and domain name but still using blogger.com service. No sure if Exabytes will do it for you or not though.

I am a customer of Exabytes :
Here is my experience :
1) Join a fews years back with one domain, just for fun.
At the end of the day, I just said to myself, “Move on”.
2) Then I purchased another hosting because my friend ask me to do some website for his company.
3) After a year, I got more serious into web design and got another hosting from them mainly just for email.
4) Until now, there is 13 domain in at least 2 hosting server which I took off one just to increase my profit as a web design freelancer.
5) Minor problem does exist during this few years, but I close one eye.
6) Last two week, I called them up directly to their support team on some issue. Instead I was provided a solution first, I was given a very harsh comment. So I though, ok fine. SO I was instructed to transfer a website out from their server due to some TOS issue. So I agreed to that and I said I will promise and will do so.
7) After a few hours, I was issue an email with the instruction to tranfer the website to somewhere else. So I reply back to ask for more time, this is because I need to find a company who is willing to do it. The time that is provided to me is not sufficient for me to make the transfer.
9) So I email them for them to request my domain username and password at 11am and gave them one hour to do so. But at 1pm, I still have not got any answer from them, so I called them up, the first tech just ask me to called back, then I said I will wait, the next tech just keep laughing at the thing I said which really make me mad and I scolded him real good. The job just took him 10 minutes with a reply to my email.
Think about it, I was promise 24/7 support and for a 10 min job I have to wait for 2 hours and got a sarcastic laugh.
Before that night, I also submitted a ticket, but after 12 hours I only got the reply, and the reply was the same reply I got from the first support. It is so unprofessional.
At the end of the day, move and transfer my 13 website to another hosting company in US for RM300, 600Gb of space, unlimited addon domain, mysql and etc.
For sure, this new web hosting support come with a live support (chat) and much more friendlier, at least you will not be a laughing stock.
I use to recommend user to them, the first one say the support sucks. I don’t believe it. Now I do.
One advise, I still prefer the old support team, the new support team now really have no manners and respect.
Sorry for my grammar error, but at least I will not but System Engineer (Level 3 or etc) at the bottom of the email but the manners is in the toilet bowl.
To Exabytes CEO, Mr Chan Kee Siak, for your info, in Malaysia, there are people who is not highly educated but actually own more website then any others.
So when you write your TOS or revise your TOS, please use a much more simpler English.
Thank you and I got more website to transfer out from your server.
Chinese saying, “Drop my spectacle”.

lots of bad reviews from the readers, I used to host my blog with a local hosting company until I had enough of their empty promises.
May 18th, 2008 at 9:38 am

May 18th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
RM28 for a domain name is a good deal. Any hidden fees, anyone?
May 18th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
Well, Exabytes is the biggest hosting providers in Malaysia…And is the most expensive…
May 19th, 2008 at 7:41 am
hah..very cheap domain name
May 19th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
To Gecko: Ya. MySQL is calculated to the total bandwidth.
To senghooi.com: Perhaps you should check what are the renewal prices for all the features they offer in the starter kit.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:33 pm
To Felex Tan: You could purchase a domain name and personalize your blog URL with that domain name. It only requires procedures to register the domain name and DNS update to blogspot server. You could send ticket to ask Exabytes support to help you update the DNS.
To Lord TCT: Could you please send your domain name to feedback@exabytes.com so we can further check the issue?
To Exabyte User: Thank you for your feedback. Could you please send your domain name and corresponding ticket ID to feedback@exabytes.com? We will put serious attention and investigate your complaint.
To Syahid A: RM 27.70/yr. No hidden fee. You can register 2 years to save more.
To didi: Besides looking at the price itself only, the specs and features offered in a particular hosting plan and calculated into the value of the hosting plan. Other extra values like service availability and quality also should be taken into consideration.
online: Haha. Indeed it is cheap. Last time we had crazy domain sale for only RM0.99 per domain. : )
May 19th, 2008 at 9:18 pm
Very good deal!
May 20th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
thanks you.

Another defamation sue in the making. This will be the first Malaysian taken to court for libel charges just because he made a Genuine Consumer Complaint on the Internet. Should we keep quite from being bullied by the rich and powerful? Is it right to use the law to muzzle a consumer in grievance? Just purchased another domain for RM55.40 from them and not hosting cause is cheap.
Won the RM77 stuff and is like wow, great.
Set my DNS to point at another server in US before purchase.
After everything is done, the DNS still point to one of Exabytes server.
Ok, so I retrieve my password at manage.exabytes.com. The password came in blank ans ask me to contact domain@exabytes.com. So I did asking for the password by forwarding the email as of 5:40pm (2008-06-05) and I called them up for the support. The auto reply is, “No one is available to answer my call”. Ok, what happen to the 24/7 support team? As far as I know, the sales will be off by 5pm but the support team also?
Let see how long will they reply my email, will updates you guys…
June 7th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Update to the post above :
I got the first reply after I open another ticket with no solution and have to wait until 8:05am the next day because the technical said that the domain is not under support team. Huh?! Ok, whatever….
