Yahoo Messenger is one of the most popular instant messengers of today. When you download Yahoo! Messenger(YM), you actually only download a small size installer which will download the full size Yahoo Messenger when it is loaded.
But, the YM installer restarts the installation when your line is unstable or the YM download site is busy. It is rather irritating. I once spent 30 minutes to see it keeps restarting the installation!
Here is the solution! We can skip the small YM installer and directly download the full Yahoo! Messenger standalone installer.

how about the compatiblities isue, yahoo messengger 8 sometimes slowdown the computer(how about messenger 9)

ICQ? the good old days… msn is just plain, simple and boring, if only they have skins for yahoo and msn for us to bring back those old memories.

Nice one but Window Live Messenger still a popular IM among me and my friends. May be one day, everyone will change to yahoo messenger, like what we did (ICQ –> MSN)

aha! standalone installer. now it’s easy for me if I have to format my laptop, again.
but still waiting for vista version of ym. looks cool but so slow and sluggish (still beta though).

@Uncle G: you can always use compatible IM client like Pidgin (formally Gaim). It is all-in-one IM client which also support msn, gtalk, icq, you name it.
