Genting Highland Trip and 51st Merdeka Day
Filed in: Life Log, Malaysia — September 1st, 2008
Last week, I went to Genting Highland with my friends from my hometown for a short holiday. It was only 2 days and 1 night trip. RM73 per person, inclusive of traveling and hotel room expenses, plus 1 cheap buffet dinner.
We were there to relax ourselves (though I have been too relaxed
). It was also my first time playing in the casino. I was not lucky and brave enough to play the games. I was more comfortable playing slowly with the slot machine, 1 credit by 1 credit.

51st Merdeka Day
Happy belated birthday to Malaysia! 31st August 2008 was the 51st Independence Day of Malaysia!
Compared to last year, the Malaysia blogsphere is quite dull about the 51st National Day of Malaysia. Why was that? Everyone was busy with own stuff?
Budget 2009
2 days before Merdeka Day was the announcement of Budget 2009. No big surprise. Nothing special or different for me, a full-time blogger. The income tax rebate and reduction does not apply to my income level. By the way, the following statement interested me:
(Exemption of) 100% import duty and 50% excise duty on new hybrid CBU cars, with engine capacity below 2,000 cc, be given to franchise importers.
Hybrid car is my ideal car but the high price tag stopped me previously. With the exemption of duty, does it mean that we can get a Honda Civic Hybrid below RM100,000 (currently about RM160,000)?

@Deimos: no win no lose
@Marco: Internet income is taxable, do you aware of that?

Time after time I’ve commented about “income earned from overs is tax exempted”.
Internet income IS taxable but NOT all as it depends on how you’re getting your income from the Internet. Contact a good tax consultant, you only spend a little to save a lot.
