Due to the free seats promotion, the AirAsia website is having heavy load. You will get a much faster response time by using AirAsia mobile site.

My two cents

This is a good news for my friends and me, as we are planning for holiday trips next year. We haven’t decided where to visit yet, probably Thailand or Vietnam.

I like Taiwan and Japan but they are not reachable by AirAsia (yet?).

Where do you plan to fly to in 2009?

Travel to Hong Kong, ShenZhen, and GuangZhou

May 24th, 2008 | Category: Life Log | 15 Comments

For the whole next week, I will be in the Hong Kong. ShenZhen and GuangZhou. My dad, younger brother and I are going to China for holiday. We do not follow any travel agency tour. We travel at our own, kind of backpackers. We will spend 3 days in Hong Kong, 1 day in ShenZhen and 2 days in GuangZhou.

Planning a tour online

Basically, we did everything online, such as booking AirAsia flight tickets and hotel rooms. There are many websites for travelers on hotel booking and travel guide. My brother and I did online research for a couple days to find the good one. I also asked for friends advices.

The AirAsia return flight tickets (Hong Kong) is about RM1,000+ for each person (not the recent RM0 promotion). The Hong Kong hotel room is HKD450 per night for 3 pax. ShenZhen is slightly cheaper. We will stay in a 4 stars hotel in GuangZhou with river view.

As for the attractions, we didn’t plan much about it. We have a list of attractions of each city but we haven’t planned a traveling route. Freestyle! :P

Shopping, shopping, shopping!

Hong Kong is well known as the shopping heaven because it is duty free for branded stuff. I checked a Canon camera listed price, Hong Kong is few hundred bucks cheaper than the listed price in Malaysia! That’s around 20% cheaper!

Tour: Cameron Highland and Kota Kinabalu

April 5th, 2008 | Category: Life Log | 18 Comments

Next week, I am going to have my vacation at TWO different places: Cameron Highland and Kota Kinabalu of Sabah. What a busy but happy week!

Before that, I am going to Kuala Lumpur today. I will stay overnight at my brother’s place. We will have dinner together and watch the Japanese movie “L”. Then, I go to Cameron Highland with my friend tomorrow morning.

It has been many years since the last time I went to Cameron Highland. In my memory, it is a beautiful and relaxing place. I always prefer Cameron Highland over Genting Highlands.

I will spend 3 days 2 nights at Cameron Highland to enjoy the beautiful nature and the fresh vegetables and fruits. Oh, and the tea too!

Tune Money’s Tune Card is Lousy!

February 29th, 2008 | Category: Malaysia, PayPal, Reviews | 46 Comments

200802290136.jpgTune Money’s Tune Card is a relatively new prepaid card in the market, and I have applied one for myself to withdraw from Paypal, and so that I can withdraw my cash from the Tune Card.

As the first step, you need to log in to Tune Money website and register yourself for the card. However, the process of application was quite tedious. I had 3 times time-out during the payment process and finally got through again at the 4th attempt. Yes, it was very frustrating.

After registering myself, I waited religiously 7 working days for the collection of my card at the local post-office. Yes, it was exactly 7 working days, I was quite surprised at the efficiency. However, the disappointment with their service started not long after that.

Locked account

After activating my card, I somehow got my account locked, and had to wait for new password from them before I could log in again. Unfortunately, it took quite some days to solve my tiny problem. And waiting their customer support reply is the most frustrating thing in the world. They claim to reply you within 2 working days. Sadly, it always takes more than 2 days to reply my mail.

Are they really that busy?
