Brother HL-2070N Laser Printer Error

Filed in: Gadgets — April 19th, 2007

I reviewed the Brother HL-2070N laser printer 10 days ago, but the laser printer is not working now.

According to the printer user manual, it means “Service call” when the all the printer LED lights are flashing. I guess it is a serious error that cannot be fixed at user end. Perhaps I will send it back to the computer shop where I bought it.

Hmm… seems like I am a “gadget killer”. My gadgets often malfunction shortly after I purchased them. In my records, I bought two Brother printers and both of them broke down in 14 days. *shrug*

i do a lot of printing, mostly graphic stuff and based on my past experience, all i can say is HP is still the most reliable of all. I have 2 hp printer, 1 canon, 1 epson. The least problem among all is HP, their ink may be slightly expensive than canon but their ink don’t fade after a year, and yes, canon do claim that their original ink will last for years if it is not expose to any sun light, which is not true. so, for problem free, i recommend HP.

i would recommend the minolta (page pro) laser printer. i had been using it for many years in my office and in the church and they are working very well all the time. now the latest model for home use is only at about RM399 i think. at the recent PC fair, it was RM299. i was tempted to buy it for my home use (now home, i’m using epson inkjet).

Well.. I wish I could tell you earlier.. But Brother printer is the worst quality printer I ever used in my life.. I’ve tried Canon, Xerox, Samsung, HP, and Brother.. But the earliest to go to workshop is Brother..

Yup I recommend HP too. In my experience, paying slightly less for a product (like Brother printer) is always not worth it.

You are not a gadget killer. I think the problem is with the brand itself.

My brother 2070N has been working until we had a partial power outage-the 120V was cut to 60v because a phase was cut (and the printer was plugged into a very good surge suppressor). Now I get the blinking lights, so going to file a complaint with So Cal Edison.
