For graphic designers, developers, photographers and you who wish to have a large and high-resolution monitor, the latest Dell UltraSharp 32 4K UltraHD monitor is your dream comes true.

Dell UltraSharp 32 (UP3214Q) is Dell’s largest high-end monitor. The 31.5-inch display features Ultra HD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels – 4x Full HD resolution – using IGZO LCD panel with anti-glare screen.

It has wide colour support of 99% AdobeRGB and 100% sRGB and display 1.074 billion colors (10 bits). The viewing angle is 176° vertical / 176° horizontal.

The professional monitor has a wide range of connectivity: HDMI, DisplayPort ver 1.2, mini-DisplayPort, 4x USB 3.0, USB 3.0 (upstream) and a 6-in–1 media card reader.

How much?

Dell UltraSharp 32 is now available worldwide for USD$ 3,499.99. Dell Malaysia website does not show the price but ask you to “Call Dell” instead. I did, and the price in Malaysia is RM 11,099!

Dell UltraSharp 24 and 28 4K monitors

Besides UltraSharp 32, Dell will also offer 2 more Ultra HD monitors in 24-inch and 28-inch.

Dell UltraSharp 24 4K monitor (USD$ 1,399) with the same 3840 x 2160 screen resolution (23.8-inch) is available in South and North America and other places on December 16th. However, no date is given when I called Dell Malaysia.

Coming soon is Dell 28 Ultra HD monitor (not UltraSharp series) that will be available in early 2014. It offers the same amount of pixels count but priced under USD$ 1,000 – probably the cheapest Ultra HD monitor when it is launched.

Thoughts

Ultra HD resolution is the future. It does not only mean you can see more items on one display but also sharper text and items using Dot-Per-Inch (DPI) scaling that already supported on Windows 8.1 and OS X.

Ultra HD monitors are very expensive and target only professionals. Dell 28 Ultra HD monitor will make Ultra HD monitor more affordable for general users like you and me to enjoy high-resolution display.

I am using 2x Full HD displays (iMac 24 + Dell 24) for my work. I would be love to plug my notebook to a 28″ Ultra HD monitor.

How about you? Is UltraHD monitor in your 2014 wishlist yet?
