Export Movable Type to Blogger

Filed in: Web Development, Weblog — December 27th, 2004

Zaim Bakar wrote a PHP script, mt2blogger, that do something different. It exports Movable Type entries to Blogger.com. If you ever want to swich from MT to Blogspot, the script may help you.

Finally I’ve been able to export all of my MT entries into Blogger. How, you ask? Well, I wrote a somewhat small PHP script that does just that. It’s buggy and full of spaghetti code but at least it does it’s job (even though rather badly).

He doesn’t have own webhosting for the moment, so I help him to host the interesting file. :)

Download mt2blogger.zip (20KB).

Note:

  • The script is alpha version. Meaning, there might be some unknown bugs and issues. Use it at your own risk.
  • Please read the included README file in the zip file before you begin.

I just thought I’d say thanks. I’ve been putting off writing my own conversion script for about 4 months in the hopes that Blogger would get on it, but it’s nice to see that you beat them (and more importantly me) to it.

    Thanks a bunch.
