Facebook has launched Facebook App Center to make it easier to find web apps and mobile apps that support Facebook.
Facebook App Center is available on Facebook.com, as well as Facebook for iOS and Android. People in U.S. get it first then it will available to everyone in the coming weeks.
App Center does personalized recommendations based on your current apps, as well as showing your friends’ apps. You can check the Top Rated, Trending and Top Grossing app lists, too.
In the left sidebar of Facebook App Center (web version), you can filter Web/Mobile apps. Facebook sort apps in 10 categories: Games, Entertainment, Facebook, Lifestyle, Music, News, Photos & Video, Sports, Travel & Local, and Utilities. At the bottom, you get app requests from friends.
For each listed app, you get app screenshots and detailed description, and list of your friends who install/use the particular facebook app. For privacy control, App Center shows the information an app needs and let you choose who can see your app activity on Facebook.
There’s a “Send to Mobile” button that send the selected mobile app to your mobile via Facebook for iOS/Android. Then, you’ll be sent to Apple App Store or Google Play to install it.
My two cents
Overall, I think Facebook App Center is pretty neat. The user interface is easy to use, just like Apple App Store and Google Play Store. App Center truly make it easier to find interesting apps. I found “iHeartRadio” and love it!
What are the apps you discovered on Facebook App Center?
