The first working prototype of OLPC(One Laptop Per Child a.k.a. $100 laptop) was announced by MIT.

    The $100 computer is “crank powered”, ie it comes with a hand crank that you can use to charge the internal battery. It was in the original design, but seems to be missing from the just released prototype
