OpenOffice.org has been around for years of course, under the name StarOffice, so there are many books and online resources, as well. 

Also, if you&#039;re considering OpenOffice.org, don&#039;t overlook the option of just downloading the product from &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.openoffice.org&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;www.openoffice.org&lt;/a&gt; and installing the 
software. And it&#039;s totally free, of course. There&#039;s no problem with installing OpenOffice.org on the same machine with Microsoft Office or another office suite. (No conflict with other software period, as far as I know.) It of course runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris, OS/2, and more.

Anyone who&#039;s used an office suite will be able to play around with OpenOffice.org and do simple tasks immediately. There&#039;s also a lot of online help.
