Google is Switching to AMD Processor

Google, which has more than 200,000 servers, has started to buy Advanced Micro’s Opteron processors with almost all new purchases, Morgan Stanley analyst Mark Edelstone said.

AMD Opteron is 64-bit processor for servers and workstations. AMD claims that it is the world’s highest performing processor for 1-8P x86 servers and workstations.
