How To Shorten A URL Without Any Extension Or Bookmarklet

There are many web browser extensions and bookmarklet to help you shorten a long URL. Now, the popular URL shortener service bit.ly and j.mp it allows you shorten a URL right away from browser address bar!

  1. Visit the site you want to shorten URL.
  2. Insert “j.mp/” or “bit.ly/” (without quotation) in front the website URL in the address bar.
  3. Press “Enter / Return” key and you’ll redirect to j.mp or bit.ly page with the shortened URL of your link ready to be copied or shared to social network. Done!

This is a very handy feature! No more extension/bookmarket needed!

    I find bit.ly loading quite slow… But it has a good statistic though…
