Maxis Bhd (Malaysia) is working with PayPal to encourage Malaysians to sign up PayPal account.
What is the difference between a PayPal account and a Maxis-PayPal account?
Quote from Maxis PayPal FAQ:
All existing PayPal account features and benefits are available to a Maxis PayPal account holder. However, a Maxis PayPal account holder enjoys additional incentives in the form of exclusive promotions, discounts, and rebates offered by Maxis, PayPal, and selected PayPal merchants globally.
Click here to signup Maxis PayPal account. Existing PayPal account user can link their account to Maxis. Only Maxis customers can sign up Maxis-PayPal account.
After signing up with Maxis-PayPal, your phone numbers will be listed in your PayPal account (My Account – Profile – Phone Numbers)
My two cents
So far, I only see Maxis-PayPal useful for paying Maxis phone bills and buying movie tickets via Maxis Movies [iTunes link] iPhone app.
The so-called “special deals” are the eBay items. Anyone with PayPal account can shop. Not necessary Maxis-PayPal only.
The Maxis-PayPal account is more like a promotion to get Malaysians sign up PayPal account. Not much additional benefits to existing PayPal account holder.
