Moto X, the 2013 flagship Android smartphone by Motorola Mobility, is quietly available in Malaysia. It has been 8 months since first released. Too late in even more competitive phone market in 2014.
The news of Lenovo to acquire Motorola Mobility broke up shortly after the launch of Moto G in Malaysia in January 2014.
We thought Moto X would never be released in Malaysia. Eventually, Motorola Mobility introduces Moto X in Malaysia at the end of April 2014.
Moto X is a 4G LTE phone, the display is 4.7-inch HD 720p. It is powered by 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, does not support microSD card. The rear facing camera is 10MP and 2MP for front facing camera. 2200 mAh non-removable battery.
Like Moto G, Moto X has a clean Android 4.4 Kitkat version with additional friendly features:
With a on-board Natural Language Processor, Moto X can be trained to recognize your voice. You can say “OK Google Now” to launch Google Now virtual assistant without touching the phone, even it’s in sleep mode.
Active Notifications features will display notifications on lock screen, allows you to check notifications received at a glance, while still conserving battery power by taking advantage of AMOLED display.
Simply flicks your wrist twice to launch camera app, touch anywhere on the screen to take photos.

Moto X price in Malaysia is RM 1499 (16GB), available in black or white colour. For more information, please visit motorola.com
In 2013, Moto X’s specs and price is high value-for-money. In the very competitive smartphone market, things changed a lot in a few months time. RM1.5K for Moto X specs is no longer attractive. It missed the golden timing to be sold in Malaysia.
