My First WordPress Theme, Done!

Filed in: Life Log, WordPress — May 2nd, 2005

Phew~ finally done the three columns kubrick theme!

As estimated, I took a day to make the simple modified version of Kubrick theme. Most of the time was spend on dealing with the #$% CSS.

I feel that my CSS skill level is upgraded.

Well, it is time to bed. I haven’t implement the three columns kubrick theme to this site. It will required some custom code modification, example: ads code, plugin functions, etc.

Oh yeah! 2nd May 2005 is holiday!

Hey… if you are using fixed values for the wrapper, can you set it larger?
Or better still.. use dynamic values (i.e in %)

@Chewxy: larger width is not suitable for lower resolutin(800×600). Dynamic width is not good for page with fixed width header image.

LcF, it’s a battle between fixed-width design and fluid design. A lot of discussions have been made amonth pro web designers since last year. Try google it and you’ll know. Somehow, I don’t use both, but instead I use ‘elastic’ design. Hehe.

I think you should run your theme through the validator at W3.org, and also the css, and consider fixing the errors. Anyone who tries to use this theme the way it is may run into some difficulty. Good luck.
