Google announced a few new services during Google Press Day 2006: Google Trends, Google Desktop version 4, Google Co-op, and Google Notebook.

Google Trends

Google TrendsGoogle Trends allows you to compare the world’s interest according to your favorite topics. You can enter up to five topics and Google Trends will display a chart of search frequency, number of related Google News stories, and which geographic regions have the most often search.

With Google Trends, you can have fun discovering what other people are searching for. It may not be useful for general users but it is useful for content publishers.

Please note that the cities and regions charts are calculated based on ratio, not the total number of searches. This explain why Kuala Lumpur is No.1 city for “adsense” keyword. Kuala Lumpur does not has most search queries about “adsense”, but based on search query ratio, it is the No.1 city.
