OMG! My iPhone 3GS is DEAD!

Filed in: Gadgets — October 29th, 2009

My iPhone 3GS is dead after using it for 3 months! Yes, DEAD. Cannot turn it on. No screen display. “Bricked“!

What happened?

I am not sure. It was so sudden! I was charging it then it was dead when I came back. Maybe electronic shock or something?

What to do now?

Nothing much I can do except to send the dead iPhone 3GS back to Maxis Communications Berhad, where I got my iPhone from, to get it fixed or a replacement unit.

Life without iPhone

Without iPhone, I update twitter less, check email less frequent, do not stay online on instant messengers, cannot log my body weight, cannot play games, cannot surf web on the go…

Hopefully can get back my iPhone very soon… Felt lost without iPhone. It has changed my life so much!

Updated: I had claimed the warranty for my dead iPhone 3GS. Click here to read about it.

Apple's product appears to be low on quality recently, a friend of my got a Macbook pro, the most expensive macbook and it went dead after one month.

hmm.. I did claim warranty for ALL the Apple products that I own: iBook, iMac and iPhone now.

The AppleCare is a must buy when you buy any Apple product.

I used BlackBerry before (review unit), still prefer iPhone. Perhaps will change to Android phone next time.

get iphone! don't worry, you have one year warranty. However, do not jailbreak it because it void the warranty.

Did you try resetting it? The same problem happened to my friend's iphone a few weeks ago. Same problem as yours.

“Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears restore the iPhone software”

What do you think about the latest HTC Hero phone?

Also, what do you think of the HTC hero? I'm considering getting it over the iphone.

I think Android OS will become popular when it is matured, not now. I would love to test an Android phone, anyway. :)

thanks for the “Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake button + Home button” tip. It is useful to reset an iphone but not for mine. Mine has been confirmed dead.

the scariest part about warranty claim is someone has the opportunity to go thru all of your data. That is why I prefer windows PC desktop (i can remove the hard disk and extract the data myself), and mobile phones with removable memory card where i can remove the memory card prior sending for service.

ya, you are right about the data in the phone.. if you see my naked pics on the Net then it probably leaked from Maxis :P

thanz for the info, bro ^^
