Review Free Yahoo! Konfabulator
Filed in: Downloads, Reviews, Yahoo! — July 27th, 2005Yahoo! acquired Konfabulator, it is now free download(previously USD25). I heard about Konfabulator before but never install it, mainly due to its price. Thanks to Yahoo, now I can try it for free!
The Konfabulator 2.1 setup file size is 8.8MB, after the installation, it runs through a small tutorial to help you get start with the program. It loads a few default widgets and they are beautiful!
Besides the default Konfabulator widgets, you can also get many other contributed widgets from Widget Gallery.
So, How is it?
Personally, I think it is cool, amazing and fun! However, I think it is for someone with big computer screen and high system specs. Generally the widget size is 200px X 150px, the windows desktop become crowded if you put few more widgets (tested on 1024×768). Besides, each widget will take up a few MB of system memory. Make sure you have enough free memory to load the widgets.
After all, Konfabulator is a nice software but it is not for me. I like to keep my system clean and simple, no fancy thing. By the way, I would like to see a Adsense widget that display my Google Adsense earning on desktop.
