Apple announced iOS 4.1 update for iPhones and iPod Touch which fixes some iOS 4.0 bugs, e.g. proximity sensor issue, bluetooth, iPhone 3G performance.

New features included High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos, HD video upload over WiFi, TV show rentals, and Game Center.

Game Center allows you to keep track of your scores, challenge friends, play multiple-player games against your friends. No friends? No problem, it will auto-match a player for you.

iOS 4.1 will be available as free download sometime next week.

Happy Birthday! I turn 30-years-old today (August 19, 2010). No longer 20s young man. Kids and teens would greet me as “UNCLE”. It is a milestone.

I consider myself a lucky man. I have a job (full-time blogger) which many people are envy about — making money at home.

The free working hour job made me enough money to support my living cost, holiday trips, gadgets shopping, buy a car, and buy a house (soon).

I am grateful.

Apple released iOS updates for both iPhone and iPad to fix a PDF security flaw. The bug is used by the online jailbreak tool, JailBreakme.com to jailbreak iDevices.

The released versions are iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone and iPod Touch, and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad. You can download the OS 4 update via iTunes or use the following direct download links of iOS4 updates for your iDevice:

• iPad
• iPhone 4
• iPhone 3GS
• iPhone 3G
• iPod Touch 2G
• iPod Touch 3G

Please note that if you have jailbreak your iDevices, the updates will remove the jailbroken status and carrier unlocks.

I have updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.0.2. So far, I don’t see any problem nor significant performance improvement.

If you are happy with your jailbroken iDevices and you don’t read PDF file on them, then you probably don’t need to bother about the latest iOS updates. My two cents.

Here is a serious warning. Do not wash your precious Apple iPad else it would shrink into a mini iPad! My brother proved it in the following pictures.

That’s scary! Never wash your iPad!
