P1 has won the GoMobile Operators Awards 2012 as Best Home Wireless Broadband Provider of the year.

According to P1 CEO Michael Lai, P1 users consume a monthly average of 17 GB of data, compare to 7 GB average monthly download in 2008.

Lai further enthused, “The honour of this (GoMobile) award foremost goes to all P1 valued customers, committed employees, supportive business partners, the Malaysian government and our Board of Directors who have been marching with us in this amazing journey of P1. Packet One Networks Sdn. Bhd. (P1) is injecting RM30 Million to kick start its P1 4G rollout in East Malaysia. P1 is expected to make its debut in Sabah & Sarawak by quarter two this year starting with Kota Kinabalu in Sabah.

P1 is expected to cover about 55% of households in Kota Kinabalu by the end of 2012. Then, P1 will gradually expand its coverage to Kepayan, Lido, Fortuna, Karamunsing, Menggatal, Likas, Penampang, Pertagas, Inanam, Nosoob, Damai, Kingfisher Park within Kota Kinabalu, to other towns in Sabah and the state of Sarawak.
