TMNET FTP Server As Free File Hosting
Filed in: Malaysia, Tips, Tmnet — July 4th, 2004I am going to show you how to host your files on Tmnet FTP server for Free! (Like my previous entry “bad luck soccer player videos“)
Step-By-Step:
- First of all, we need a FTP client. Filezilla is highly recommended, it is free open source software.
- Then, use FTP client to connect TMNET FTP server, using the following login information:
Address: ftp.tm.net.my
User: anonymous
Password: anonymous - After login, browse to “incoming” directory. You may upload files into the directory now, or even create your own directory!
How to link?
Assume you uploaded “myvideo.mpg” into “incoming” directory, this is the link of the file: ftp://ftp.tm.net.my/incoming/myvideo.mpg
Benefits:
- It is FAST! (for Malaysian)
- It is FREE!
- It accept any file type! #
- No file size and bandwidth limit! #
# As far as I know…
Note:
- Do not upload private file because anyone can download the uploaded files.
- You may not delete any file on the FTP server.
- The files will be removed after certain period. (Current oldest file is one month old)
- No illegal file allowed.
Thought:
The Tmnet free FTP service is not new, but rather undocumented and unknown. We can use it as free temporary online storage.
Hopefully it will not down after I blog… just like the 2and2.net.
Updated: Added “how to link?”.
