The Cinderella-like Streamyx Broadband

CinderellaThere is a Cinderella in my home — the TMNet Streamyx broadband connection I have.

Recently, my Streamyx connection always disconnect in the midnight (my working hour). Once it is about midnight, the connection will disconnect, reconnect, disconnect, reconnect.. every minute or two.

A very frustrating experience.

It only disconnects in the midnight. The broadband connection is fine in the day time and after 1am. It sounds weird but true.

I have no idea why the Streamyx connection only disconnects in the middle of night. A Cinderella inside!?

    All you have to do is ask. I did. The tech at the telephone exchange is resetting the equipment. They always choose the middle of the night, when users are less likely to be online, and they only do it once a day at the most. Or so they say.

    Unfortunately, the tech at my exchange has too much time on his hands. It sometimes gets reset 4 or 5 times between 12am and 6am. It happens once in a while in the middle of the work day as well. It's frustrating because I'll be working, logged in to various websites, and all the sessions will be lost when I get disconnected. Sometimes, I'm in the middle of uploading large files.

    why do they need to reset daily? it wasn't happen to me before.

    Maybe they are upgrading and testing the new 'HSBB ACCESS INFRASTRUCTURE'

    My connection here in Segamat is unusable from 7pm onwards.

    The bad news is I can't work on my sites. The good news is I have regular working hours now — 9 to 5 again.

    Will TM do anything about this? Given my experience with them, I don't think so.

    I think TM is performing maintenance during midnight.

    Looks like the disconnect happens everywhere across Malaysia.. I have the same problem in Raub Pahang…. When called up, they only send the technician here.. Once he tested the connection with his laptop, he said not TMNet problem.. But he didn't listen to our problem that it disconnect on midnight and its a intermittent problem.. He only tested for 1-2 minutes can consider our problem solved… He only care whether his laptop can connect or not, not whether TMNet service is worth as what we paid for.A very disappointing service provider..Hope there will be a competitor…
