Transfer funds from Maybank2U to Public Bank Debit Card (Ask LcF)

As requested by many readers, here, I will show you how to transfer funds (top up) to a Public Bank Visa Electron Debit Card(PB debit card) from a Maybank2u e-banking account.

Top up PB debit card through Maybank2u

Step #1: Log into your Maybank2u account. Select “Interbank (GIRO) Transfer” from “Funds Transfer” menu. You will be welcomed by some Maybank ads.

Click the “Click to Proceed to Interbank(GIRO) Transfer” button at the bottom of the page.

Step #2: On “Beneficiary Bank“, select “PUBLIC BANK” from the dropdown list. Click “Next” button.

Step #3: Now, you need to fill in the “Open Interbank Transfer” form.

Remember to select “Credit Card Payment” for “Payment Type“. This is important! Fill in your PB debit card number for “To Open Beneficiary Account“. “Beneficiary Name” is your name. “Beneficiary ID” is your I.C No.

It is all right to leave “Transaction Reference Number” and “Description of Transaction” blank. Click the “Next” button to continue.

Step #4: Lastly, check and confirm the data, then enter your TAC number. Click “Request TAC” to request for Maybank2u to send the TAC number to your mobile phone number (if you have registered your mobile phone number with Maybank2u).

Click “Confirm” button and you are done. The funds may take a day to process.

Yes, Interbank fund transfer will be charged for RM1 to RM2 per transaction. RM2 for e-banking transaction, if I am correct.

    3. Yes. You may apply the e-banking and telebanking service at branch for your Debit card account.

    4. Yes, you may transfer fund from your PB Savings/Current account thru ATM to this Debit card account. Alternatively, you may bank in cash at PB counters into the Debit card account in order to activate the card account to issue card to you. Hi LcF. Want to ask something.
Can i transfer funds(Top Up) from CIMB Internet Banking to my Public Bank Debit Card?

  21. LcF August 29, 2007 at 6:04 pm #

@Putera Katak: yes, it should work just like Maybank2U transfer for CIMB to Public Bank.

  22. Azrul September 4, 2007 at 9:52 pm #

@Putera Katak & LcF : Currently CIMB Internet Banking does not include Public Bank’s Credit Card payment in their services yet. I have sent an inquiry to CIMBClicks about this matter

Does this works with the AmBank NexG PrePaid MasterCard, could i top up my Nexg with transfers fund from Maybank2u?

  25. theYogi November 22, 2007 at 3:40 pm #

It works with AmBank’s NexG MasterCard. My boss sent some money to my card using Maybank2U. Things to remember though:

    1. Your card number
    2. Your IC number
    3. Your name (for Indians, no need to put the A/L thingee)
    4. Senders TAC

and the rest are detailed by liewcf at the top of this page. It took 2-3 days for the money to be credited though.

    Hope that helps!
