Yahoo! Offer WordPress Web Hosting

Yahoo! has started offering WordPress Web hosting.

The Yahoo! WordPress web hosting offer simple WordPress installation, auto upgrades to new WordPress version when available and including few wordpress plugins such as Flickr integration, notification of blog updates, site statistics, submission to the Yahoo! RSS database, and more.

My two cents

In order to run WordPress, you are only required to have PHP and MySQL. It is very easy to find a web hosting provider that support both of them. So, what’s so special about Yahoo! web hosting?

I like the automatic WordPress upgrade feature. With this feature, you don’t need to upgrade WordPress manually when there is a new version (what if you do not want to upgrade due to plugins incompatibility?) . The other feature I like is the pre-installed plugins that help new wordpress bloggers promote their blogs.

    I agree with you LCF. Starter pack already US$8.01 per month.
    That’s crazy compared to Malaysian webhosts that offer hosting packages for less than US$4.00 a month. That gives much more flexibility compared to just wordpress hosting. But, of course, Yahoo offers bandwidth and storage space that is much more than required for a start.

    Yahoo is international well known brand mah… so more expensive lor. Maybe they have better tech support?
