Nowadays, smartphone size is getting bigger and bigger. If you are looking for a smaller smartphone then the options left would be low specs, poor display, outdated phone. Not good.
Can we have a decent smartphone that fit in your small hands? Check out Wiko Ufeel Prime.
I received the France designed smartphone for review. It has beautiful small footprint design and some nice features. Read on for my Wiko Ufeel Prime review.

What’s in the box?
When unbox, I was looking for the SIM slot ejector tool.
Then, I found out that the “keyring” in the box was actually an ejector tool hidden in rubber keyring! You can attach it to your keys and you will never lose it!
Wiko also includes SIM card adaptors (Ufeel Prime supports dual-SIM), phone case and screen protector. These do not cost much but are useful for a user.
The phone accessories are white colour: 2-pin power adapter, micro USB cable, in-ear headphones with extra ear buds.
Here is the Wiko Ufeel Prime package content:
- Wiko Ufeel Prime phone

Wiko Ufeel Prime in Malaysia is available in gold and anthracite colours. It has a premium finish with unibody metal design for better grip.
The 5-inch 2.5D curved display with narrow bezel is surrounded by a shining chrome line.
The curved back and smooth rounded edges make the phone comfortable to hold in hand.
On the front panel, you found a selfie flash and fingerprint sensor! I am impressed that the small phone also has them!
The volume rocker and power button are on the right side. Dual-SIM slot is on the left side. 3.5mm headphone jack at the top (yes, this is a feature now). Speaker and micro USB port are at the bottom.
Overall, the phone looks elegant and classy.
Wiko Ufeel Prime has a 5-inch IPS display with no compromise Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080). You rarely see this high resolution on small size phone!
The high brightness display makes the screen readable even in sunlight. It also has a CABC display power-saving technology to automatically adjust the screen brightness for different content.
Underneath the golden metal case, the 4G smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage (supports 64GB micro SD memory card).
Qualcomm is the No.1 mobile processor manufacturer. Rest assure that all your Android apps will run smoothly. For the phone price (I’ll tell you later), 4GB and 32GB storage do surprise me!
here are my benchmark results:
Wiko Ufeel Prime primary camera is 13MP resolution with Sony IMX 258 sensor. The lens has F2.2 aperture and blue optical filter. The front-facing camera is 8MP with selfie flash.
The camera app has a simple design with easy controls. Swipe up/down to switch camera, swipe to left for camera modes, swipe to right for camera settings. Photo capturing is snappy and no delay.

5 Fingerprints, 5 Customizable Actions
Wiko Ufeel Prime’s home button is also a fingerprint sensor. Simply touch the home button with your fingertip to unlock the phone without password or pattern drawing.
What else can you do with the fingerprint sensor?
It supports 5 fingerprints and each with own customizable actions. Example: launch Facebook app with index fingerprint, launch WhatsApp with middle fingerprint. I use the pinky fingerprint to launch calculator.
Feel like to have more security? You can encrypt your top-secret data (documents, photos, videos, etc) with Files Lock app. Also, you can lock selected apps with an extra security level.
You can define a fingerprint used for unlocking private files. It increases the difficulty (1 out of 10 fingers) to steal your fingerprint (while you are sleeping). Nice!
Wiko Ufeel Prime is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow custom ROM. The default theme is clean and using colourful and round app buttons.
News Republic news app is pre-installed and integrated into “My Smart Left” (left home screen) to deliver the latest news to you.
Some other features includes:
- Want to save battery life while you are sleeping? You can schedule the phone to automatic power off and on.
- Take a screenshot? Swipe down with 3 fingers to capture a screenshot. No more press and hold power + volume down buttons.
- Use gesture actions to quick launch apps while the phone is standby. Example: draw a “C” on display to launch the camera app.
- Turn phone into an FTP server to easily share files with other devices.
- Do not like the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen? You can turn off it in Settings.
There are more features for you to discover. Please share your tips in the comment below.

I often receive requests for smaller size smartphone with good specs but I had difficulty in recommending one.
Now I can recommend Wiko Ufeel Prime to them. It has premium design and small footprint but does not compromise on hardware features.
I like the thoughtful package design (ejector tool!) and handy software features. They are not big deal but the willingness to focus on details is awesome!
